Towards Green and Smart Seaports: Renewable Energy and Automation Technologies for Bulk Cargo Loading Operations

چکیده
Abstract In 2018, 4.1 billion tonnes of freight and 437 million passengers passed through the 1200 European ports. This dimension geographically concentrated activities is rationale that ports are characterised by a high-energy demand high share emissions. Driven growing awareness for cleaner environment, stronger focus on sustainability intensified environmental regulations, forced to take responsibility when it comes issues. As response, in recent studies, concept ‘green ports’ emerged. Simultaneously, context digitalisation, term ‘smart has received attention latest scientific discussions, too. Since an important driver towards greener maritime operations linked we argue digital efforts should next automation inherent logistics processes also contribute reducing emissions energy demands. Previous studies have primarily container handling operations. Hence, there exists research gap concerning bulk cargo Thus, this study addresses question how automate dry loading frame green smart port development. The developed case refers seaport Wismar, whereby results show digitalisation can be successfully aligned. Overall, extends discussion development, while contributes literature proving both conceptual ideas achieved operating business.

This paper deals with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) of the electrical sector and especially on the Smart Grid. This sector has been particularly active at establishing new standards to improve interoperability between all sector players, driven by the liberalization of the market and the introduction of distributed generation of energy. The paper provides a state-of-the-art analysis on archi...
متن کاملControl for Renewable Energy and Smart Grids
The use of renewable energy increased greatly just after the first big oil crisis in the late seventies. At that time, economic issues were the most important factors, hence interest in such processes decreased when oil prices fell. The current resurgence of interest in the use of renewable energy is driven by the need to reduce the high environmental impact of fossil-based energy systems. Harv...
متن کاملUsing Dynamic Thermal Rating and Energy Storage Systems Technologies Simultaneously for Optimal Integration and Utilization of Renewable Energy Sources
Nowadays, optimal integration and utilization of renewable energy sources (RES) are of the most challenging issues in power systems. The wind and solar generation units' maximum production may or may not occur at peak consumption times resulting in non-optimal utilization of these resources. As a solution to this problem, energy storage systems (ESS) are embedded in networks. However, the power...

Renewable energy sources (RES), especially wind power plants, have high priority of promotion in the energy policies worldwide. An increasing share of RES and distributed generation (DG), should, as has been assumed, provide improvement in reliability of electricity delivery to the customers. Paper presented here concentrates on electricity storage systems technologies and applications pinpoint...
